Adventure awaits…apart from the adventure of parenting, it has been awhile since I have been on an adventure. I love to explore new places, learn about things of old, and spend time doing something different. That is exactly what I get to do in the coming weeks.
For the next 4 weeks, I will be traveling to Greece and Israel. This is a summer God has planned for a long time, yet only revealed to me a few months ago. The first half will be with my middle daughter as we explore the life and travels of Paul in the region of Greece. I can’t believe I get to do this or do it with my daughter. The second half, my youngest daughter will join us and we will tour the Holy Land together.
The anticipation of all this is causing me to ponder the times in the Bible when God sends someone out to a new thing. We have Abraham going to a place that God would show him. We have Joseph being sold into slavery in Egypt. We have Moses leading people around a desert. We have Joshua directing a people into a new land. We have David going from a field to a palace. We have Paul wandering the Mediterranean. We have John on the island of Patmos. The list could go on and on.
God loves to do new things. He likes to show off His love, His power, His provision and His plan, as He unfolds the adventure before His children. As His child, I don’t know what will unfold before me, but I am excited to see Him show off. This new thing holds the adventure He has prepared for me in advance and all know is…I will never be the same for embarking on it with Him.
Each week, I will be posting about the previous week’s journey. It is my intention to write and post pictures, two weeks from Greece and two weeks from Israel. My hope is you will travel along with me and experience something new. If you are willing, please pray for me and all who will be traveling with us. God is amazing. His love is enduring. I am so grateful, in advance, for what He has planned.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:19a
